Delaware County Community College (DCCC), located outside of the Philadelphia Metro area, is looking for a dynamic and talented tenure-track Assistant Professor, Administration of Justice, to join our team of higher education professionals committed to student success. The Assistant Professor, Administration of Justice (ADJ) will serve multiple roles as a teacher, mentor, colleague, and scholar. The Faculty will have a demonstrated knowledge and expertise in the content area and relevant methodologies, tools, techniques, and meaningful applications. The Faculty will be able to exhibit sound instructional methods drawn from the scholarship of teaching and learning and cultivates a supportive learning environment that allows students to think critically and experiment with the material. Faculty are expected to excel in classroom instruction and fulfill various responsibilities as active members of the division and the wider college community.

The successful candidate must be an engaging, effective, innovative, dynamic teacher who fosters collaboration with Faculty, staff, and students. In addition, the successful individual will demonstrate the spirit of an effective communicator and a collaborative faculty member with a strong understanding of the College’s mission and goals for our students. The Faculty will also demonstrate the ability to encourage, model, embrace, and incorporate diverse thoughts and perspectives of all individuals of various backgrounds, ideas, and perspectives to foster an all-inclusive environment.

Qualified candidates must have a master’s degree in Administration of Justice, Criminal Justice, or Criminology from an accredited college or university required. Ph.D. in Administration of Justice, Criminal Justice, or Criminology preferred. Five (5) years of teaching experience, preferably in a community college. Additional experience in the following field: - Police Office (State, County, or Local), Parole/Probation (Adult or Juvenile), Federal Law Enforcement, Corrections, Corrections Counselor, Court Liaison, and Victim Advocate is preferred.

Background Clearances: Act 153 Clearances (Act 34 PA Criminal Background History, Act 151 PA Child Abuse History, Act 114 FBI Clearance); Verification of educational credentials

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $63,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
