- Directly supervise staff assigned to the unit.
- Participate in weekly meetings with Unit Manager to plan/schedule upcoming activities and unit needs.
- Prepare required reports for Unit Manager including those on staff performance and inmate relations.
- Participate in classification of inmates, custody designations, and job, program, and housing assignments.
- Motivate and encourage staff to perform their duties consistent with policy and procedures.
- High school diploma, GED certification or equivalent is required.
- Three years of experience in a criminal justice field, which includes one year in a supervisory capacity or one year as a CoreCivic Case Manager or Correctional Counselor is required.
- Additional qualifying education may be substituted for the experience on a year-for-year basis.
- Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles and practices of correctional facility management, supervision, and training as well as knowledge of, pertinent corrections laws, rules and regulations.
- A valid driver's license is required.
- Minimum age requirement: Must be at least 18 years of age.
