Job description

OBJECTIVE:
The Pallet Builder will primarily work in a warehouse environment rebuilding and reconstructing broken or damaged pallets following Goodwill’s warehouse/tool safety procedures and guidelines.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Use and become certified on forklift, pallet-jack, hand dolly or other equipment or tools to effectively move and store pallet stacks
- Utilize pneumatic power tool in a manner compliant with safe operations set forth from Goodwill of Colorado and OSHA standards.
- Rebuild / reconstruct damaged pallets into usable pallets that meet safety standards.
- Ensure that the workspace remains well organized, stocked and clean to increase safety and efficiency.
- Follow warehouse storage and stacking procedures, ensuring items are stored in their appropriate areas.
- Help provide a safe working environment for you, customers and fellow employees.
- Cross-train in other departments/areas and act as back-up for other areas as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous storage, warehouse or shipping/receiving experience is helpful.
- Able to obtain forklift certification to safely operate the equipment.
- Have a high attention to detail and the ability to make decisions.
- Able to withstand prolonged standing, bending, and lifting up to 8 hours per day.
- Able to lift up to 40 lbs, use a dolly and pallet jack as required.
- Able to work a varied schedule to include weekends, evenings, and holidays with occasional overtime as necessary.
- Able to communicate effectively with customers, managers, supervisors, staff and peers.
