We are looking for an enthusiastic PR Associate to help share the stories of The Wonderful Company and its portfolio of well-known brands, with a specific emphasis on our wine and water brands, which include FIJI Water, JUSTIN Wines, Landmark Vineyards, Lewis Cellars, and JNSQ.
The PR Associate, Consumer PR will support a dynamic team of public relations professionals to showcase, monitor, and maintain our healthy brands through media outreach, events, activations, partnerships, and social media. This includes identifying current trends and conversations, adapting brand messaging, identifying relevant partnerships and brand loyalists, developing fun and vibrant pitch angles, building out content calendars across social platforms - posting, commenting and engaging with fans along the way, working with trade organizations, staffing media and consumer wine tasting events, and overall helping to shape our integrated and evolving approach to communications.
The Consumer PR Associate will be part of a 20+ global corporate communications team based at the Los Angeles headquarters. Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Consumer Public Relations, the PR Associate will sit within the Wonderful Agency, the Wonderful Company’s advertising and communications business unit that services the full brand portfolio for The Wonderful Company. - Stay up-to-date on current events and trends, identifying opportunities for our brands to be inserted into the conversation through media outreach, social media, or events/partnerships
- Execute creative PR strategies and plans to enhance brand campaigns and messaging
- Demonstrate full understanding of the consumer media landscape including writing press releases and pitches, developing key message documents, and generating coverage
- Identify incremental projects and out-of-the-box creative ideas such as celebrity collaborations, TV integration opportunities, and brand partnerships
- Field inbound media inquiries, interview opportunities, and craft briefing documents for the executive team
- Collaborate with senior management and brand teams, and work cross-functionally with our marketing, advertising, research, and legal teams
- Staff media activations and high-profile in-person events, including red carpets and virtual events
- Manage budgets, media tracking, and seasonal reports
- Assist in social media community management, engaging with and responding to fans and followers
- Provide analysis on the impact of our campaigns and initiatives through ongoing monitoring and reporting
- Assist the larger Consumer PR team as needed with seeding/mailers and influencer identification
- At least 2-4 years of experience in communications, public relations, marketing, or events
- Strong media pitching and writing skills, with an emphasis on consumer and lifestyle media, trades, bloggers, and social media
- Ability to adapt to change, open to new ideas, and thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Self-motivated team player that takes ownership of projects and acts as a solution provider
- Accurate and consistent attention to detail
- Creative and innovative mindset
- Passion for pop culture and staying current on the latest trends
- Willingness to work non-traditional hours as some activity/events may take place during evenings or weekends
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, English, Marketing, Events or Hospitality
- Ability to travel as needed
