The Associate Director, N&I Program Management of Patient Access Solutions is responsible for designing and managing complex Patient Access Solutions (PAS) programs in N&I and ensuring multiple internal and external partners are collaborating and executing effectively to deliver on brand and patient expectations. This individual will support and monitor strategic initiatives designed to grow awareness and enrollments into the Patient Support Program to maximize positive patient outcomes for patients prescribed EMD Serono N&I products. They are responsible for working closely with the Brand team and the Patient Access Solutions (PAS) operations teams (internal or outsourced) in delivering innovative, patient-focused services for their Therapeutic Area. This individual is also responsible for evolving and delivering the right PAS services to meet patients' needs and upholding the PAS mission of putting the patients and their care partners first by delivering an industry leading PAS for their Therapeutic Area (TA).

Your Role:
  • Be viewed as a reimbursement and access resource by developing a knowledge base within the N&I space
  • Partner with cross-functional partners providing appeal, payer, and field insights
  • Work closely with cross-functional partners on Specialty Pharmacy Strategy and Pull-Through
  • Be responsible for asset and resource strategy, implementations and roll-out to PAS and cross-functional partners
  • Partner with Director of Ops on enrollment channel strategy, development, and roll-out including, enrollment forms, portals, etc.
  • Work closely with field team on insight and strategy for patient segmentation and withdrawals
  • Partner with CPI team on program modeling and GTN impact to brand
  • Be responsible for managing the ongoing development and optimization of complex, strategic cross-functional projects focused on delivering best-in-class patient support programs and tools in collaboration with the brand and the Head of hub ops (internal or outsourced)
  • Design the plan for PAS service delivery, including level of nursing support, criteria for free goods, copay assistance, and access support services in collaboration with the brand, the Head of hub ops and Head of Shared Services
  • Serve as primary point of contact between PAS hub operations and the brand teams, tasked with alignment of PAS hub activities towards achieving brand objectives
  • Maintain TA alignment and report into the cross-TA Head of Program Strategy and Management
  • Be responsible for management and communication of the brand strategy and hub operations (internally sourced or outsourced)
  • Work closely with stakeholders to deliver and execute targeted solutions that address mutual strategic priorities and brings value to all parties
  • Act as single point of contact between EMD Serono Program and/or other patient support services vendors and Field teams, Regulatory, Drug Safety and Information Management
  • Partner with PAS Hub Ops (internal or external), Field Patient Services (FPS), Field Sales, Medical Science Liaisons, Market Access, and Customer Solutions to provide support and information to customers to ensure efficient access to therapies
  • Support the analysis of the market in terms of coverage, reimbursement, and access issues, both existing and emerging payer policies, formulary listings, competitive landscape, trends, pricing, contracting strategies, and potential barriers to providers and patient access.
  • Monitor the evolution of the government's impact to PAS services and adapt to conform with guidelines
  • Partner with market access Corporate Account Director and Access & Reimbursement Manager teams to ensure close collaboration to secure payer coverage and provide coordinated field reimbursement support
  • Work closely with government affairs, legal, and compliance teams to understand the legislative, policy, legal, and government oversight environment for both current and future impact on current and future products but also to understand the changes that may impact patient support programs
  • Collaborate with the Shared Services Training Manager to identify and fulfill training need of the PAS
  • Work closely with the Head of Strategy and Director of Ops., PAS Analytics, PAS Data and IT, and Business Excellence (BE) in analyzing program data/insights to identify opportunities for improvements and efficiencies
  • Interpret results of data analyses and understand business implications that are important to stakeholders and ensure execution of these into PAS and/or other patient support services vendor(s) operations
  • Lead cross functional teams to develop relevant documentation and standard operating procedures related to patient services /program activity in collaboration with the Director of Hub Operations/Outsourced Hub operations, Quality Assurance Leader, and the Director of Shared Services
  • Manage all Patient Access activities related to both internal and external audits in collaboration with the Head of PAS Strategy, Head of PAS Shared Services and the Quality Manager
  • Strategically manage and oversee PAP and CoPay programs with support from the PAS Contract Manager. Responsible for managing, reviewing, revising, and shepherding PAP and CoPay programs through the proper channels and suggest improvements as required
  • Work closely with N&I Ops on managing affordability programs GTN
  • Work closely with Head of Strategy and cross-functional partners on future launches including the strategy and development of enrollment channels, affordability programs, and clinical resources for patients and providers
Location: Remote within the United States

Travel: Position requires both domestic and international travel (approximately 20% of time)

Who You Are:

Minimum Qualifications:
  • BS Degree 5-8 years, MS Degree 3-6 years, or PhD 2-5 years of experience
  • Experience developing and managing key biopharmaceutical PAS services either directly with a manufacturer or as an outsourced vendor to manufacturers
  • Experience in reimbursement, market access, or advocacy in the biopharmaceutical industry
  • Strong ability to partner with Marketing and Brand teams and deliver the PAS mission in collaboration with business impact
  • Strong knowledge of all legal, regulatory, and compliance requirements for PAS and general understanding of other key legal and compliance issues for the biopharmaceutical industry
  • G o-to-market experience in launching new products (required). Demonstrated leadership in the industry as an expert in PAS with strong experience with special pharmacy products
  • Experience in assessing PAS program performance to identify potential gaps and opportunities for program improvement
  • Ability to identify themes and data to make strong recommendations to improve PAS operations and the patient experience
  • Strong knowledge of the reimbursement environment for biopharmaceutical products across government programs and commercial payers
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree
  • Strong understanding of Neurology products landscape and patient journey
  • Excellent leadership skills with ability to lead and manage diverse team
  • Understanding of the need for change and ownership of change efforts. Flexibility in leading through change to deliver on PAS imperatives
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across functions in a complex organization and PAS environment
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage cross functional projects on budget and on time.
  • Ability to develop logical cases that effectively influence collaboration, alignment, and execution across all levels of the organization
  • Strong change-management skills, leadership, and team-building skills
  • Prior experience managing complex vendor relationships
  • Ability to apply effective communication techniques, engages in focused dialogue, and demonstrate good listening skills
  • Ability to present to small and large groups and deal with unexpected questions and challenges while presenting
  • Ability to design, analyze and report performance metrics at the individual and department level
  • Advanced office software skills, particularly MS Excel and PowerPoint.
