Job Description
We have an exciting opportunity for an Associate Director, Supply Chain to join the leadership team in our Dublin Distribution Centre facility. Reporting to the Site Lead (Director, Supply Chain), this senior position will play a critical role in providing direction and supporting the local leadership team with day-to-day operations within the Distribution Centre.
Specific Responsibilities:

Accountability for all Supply chain activities within Freight (Logistics) and Distribution.

Responsible for the supplier relationship management for four outsourced Logistics service providers.

Responsible for rate negotiations across multiple suppliers and service providers.
-
Accountable for creating and fiscal reporting in line with the Budgeted plan for all activities surrounding Freight (Logistics) and Distribution.

Responsible for all inhouse Warehouse Management, inventory control and end to end Distribution activities.

Responsible for all Global final mile Logistics to Gilead’s end Patients and Customers.

Responsible for coordinating Global Trade compliance requirements for imported and exported products.

Responsible for maintaining Gilead’s AEO and Known consignor accreditations

Responsible for coordinating interdepartmental activity with Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, Engineering, Commercial Operations and Finance.

Responsible to act as a member of all cross-functional project teams providing guidance, insight, and recommendations relative to the goals and objectives of the function.

Serves as the main point of contact for cross-functional integration and consults on enhancements or future integrations.

Acts as an escalation point for non-routine issues/decisions.

Directs the development of strategic programs/initiatives locally, and determines metrics for program success, and evaluates performance against metrics.

Serves as a team representative in strategic planning and operating discussions with senior leadership. Supporting the Site lead.

Focuses on strategic planning and execution while managing within the budget.

Makes or recommends appropriate decisions consistent with strategic direction.

Recommends organizational objectives and interprets company policies.
Knowledge, Experience & Skills:
-
Strong leadership, decision-making and influencing skills to drive results and the ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization.

A demonstrated history/experience of people-management, an associated people management qualification would be a distinct advantage.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
-
A Proven track record in Change management and the ability to deal with the transition or transformation of an organization's goals, processes, or technologies.
-
Extensive understanding of GMP, GDP, quality, and the regulatory requirement within the Pharmaceutical sector is essential.
-
Extensive understanding of Cold Chain Distribution and Logistics is essential.
-
Demonstrated and proven track record and a comprehensive understanding of the financial aspects of Supply Chain operations. Comprehensive knowledge of financial reporting, costing, and cost analysis.

Proven track record in developing complex concepts, techniques, and standards within a fast-paced global logistics operation.

Customs Trade and Compliance experience an advantage.

Proven track record and hands on experience with SAP S4 Hanna ERP, WMS / IM and TMS systems in general is essential.

Previous experience or working knowledge of the Lean principles and methodologies would be a distinct advantage.
Typical Education & Experience
Significant years of relevant experience in related field and a BS or BA; or several years of relevant experience and a MA/MBA.
