Job Summary

NuSil (Avantor) is seeking an Associate Project Manager to support new product developments (NPD) in the NuSil Biomaterials R&D group.

This role will be a full-time position based out of our Carpinteria, CA office. You will have the opportunity to assist the R&D group in the development of new silicone materials and silicone-related products targeted to address unmet needs in the areas of biomaterials and materials for medical implants!

What we’re looking for:

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree.
• Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years experience in a project management or related role preferred.
• Preferred Qualifications:
• Formal training in project management and product development experience resulting in the successful product(s) launch.
• Experience in the chemical or materials industry and experience driving multiple projects simultaneously.
• PMP certification desired; Experience using project management software, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint.

How you will thrive and create an impact:

• Drive project portfolio and support new product developments (NPD) in Biomaterials group.
• Coordinate the execution of NPD projects by managing project timelines, communicating to stakeholders, coordinating resources, and ensuring the project remains on schedule, in scope, and on budget.
• Transition projects through a stage-gate process resulting in the commercialization of products.
• Lead small projects with less visibility or corporate priority. Budgets are smaller.
• Participate in negotiations with internal or external clients; assisting with the development of business plans, strategies and approaches to take advantage of business opportunities.
• Manage vendor relationships including conducting planning session with vendors and service providers to define project scope and performance expectations.
• Provide subject matter expertise in areas including project management, setup of local project offices, project scope definition, risk identification, project methodology, resource allocation, facilitation, and other areas of expertise based on professional knowledge and background.
• Ensure timelines are met and project goals are attained.
