Eastridge Workforce Solutions is partnering with a visionary stem cell therapy startup in its search for an Associate Scientist to be part of a dynamic research and development team focused on hair follicle restoration using human induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs).

Duties And Responsibilities

• Manage and grow the in vivo modeling department for the company, including recruitment and management of Research Associates as needed
• Collaborate on experimental design and animal models for preclinical studies
• Plan and conduct in vivo studies for administration and testing of human cell therapy products
• Perform survival surgeries in immune-deficient rodent models
• Perform routine procedures for animal health monitoring, blood collection, drug administration, recording and maintaining accurate documentation
• Perform necropsy, graft and tissue collection, and macroscopic analyses
• Take ownership of IACUC protocol, SOPs and other documentation (e.g. training)
• Work with the R&D Teams and Operations to support in vivo testing and associated analyses
• Lead efforts to implement in vivo imaging modalities (e.g. bioluminescent reporters)
• Manage and facilitate external preclinical studies with CROs as needed

Requirements

• BS, MS or PhD in biology, biochemistry, or related field
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with in vivo models, including xenografts
• Extensive experience with survival surgery techniques in immune-deficient rodents
• Willingness to work with primary human tissues and cell types while following appropriate safety procedures
• Experience in working with teams in a collaborative interdisciplinary environment
• Ability to multi-task and work efficiently in a small, extremely fast paced environment
• Legally authorized to work in the United States

Preferred Skills And Experience

• At least 3 years industry experience working in a preclinical development lab with familiarity in following protocols and documentation procedures for preclinical development
• Experience with full-thickness skin wound models, in vivo luciferase imaging
• Working with large animal models a plus
• Aseptic cell culture techniques including culture of primary human tissues and cell types
• Previous experience with cell therapy, GLP safety studies, and/or IND submission a plus
