Athletic Trainer, Orthopedics

United Health Services is seeking an Athletic Trainer to join our Orthopedics team in Vestal, NY. This is a BENEFITS-ELIGIBLE position.

Shift: Days

Hours per week: 40

Salary range: $22.70 - $34.06/hour, depending on experience

Athletic Trainer Overview

This position works directly with the Orthopedic Physicians in the office setting to treat bone and joint injuries.

Athletic Trainer Key Responsibilities and Expectations

Document routine patient care activities including a comprehensive office intake: vital signs, history, and physical exam.

Education for patients and families on disease management and health promotion including home exercise programs and gait training.

Collaborates with patients and families to coordinate care with all ancillary services and offices.

Properly fits patients for, and educates patients on the use of Durable Medical Equipment

Application, removal and adjustments of casts, splints, braces, sutures/staples

Wound care includes dressing application and removal.

Participation in and management of Sports Medicine Hotline; answering calls both during and after office hours, communicating with field ATC’s and providers to schedule patient’s timely appointments.

Position Qualifications

Minimum:
Bachelor of Science Degree

Preferred:
Completed ATC Residency as Physician extender.

Previous experience working in office and/or Operating Room setting.

License/Certification

Minimum Required:
NYS ATC License eligible

CPR

NATABOC certification eligible

NBOTC OTC certification

Preferred:
NYS or NR EMT certification

NBOTC OTC-S certification
