Palmer Trinity School is looking for a responsible, courteous and reliable driver to transport students, staff and volunteers to and from athletic events and field trips. The driver's responsibility includes ensuring proper vehicle maintenance, observing safety and traffic rules and maintaining order among students while they are on the bus. Our driver should enjoy working with children and should be meticulous when it comes to vehicle inspections and regard passenger safety as the highest priority.

Our driver should enjoy working with children and should be meticulous when it comes to vehicle inspections and regard passenger safety as the highest priority.
Responsibilities:

Ensure the safety and well-being of children and adults being transported to and from the program and on field trips.

Arrange for the annual state inspection of the bus(es) before the program begins to transport children; assure, with prior approval, purchases and/or repairs are made pursuant to state inspection.

Complete a comprehensive written inspection of the bus daily, reporting any conditions of concern to the Athletic Director, or delegated staff person, before transporting children.

Arrange for and ensure completion of routine maintenance of the bus (e.g., oil change); transporting the bus to and from maintenance and/or repair facilities.

Ensure that the bus always has sufficient fuel.

Operate bus in such a way that road and safety regulations are always followed; reports any traffic violations to the Athletic Director immediately.

Follow safe bus loading and unloading procedures.

Follow procedures to guarantee no child is left alone on the bus without adult supervision at any time, including ensuring all children have departed the bus at the end of all bus routes (morning, evening, and during field trips or other special trips).

Keep the bus clean and free of debris; follow other bus cleaning procedures.

Routinely inventory bus emergency and first aid supplies and equipment, the report needs to the Athletic Director, or delegated staff person.

In case of accidents/emergencies, evacuate children according to written and practiced procedures.

In the event of an accident, assure that medical emergency procedures are followed; complete a written accident report as required by Athletic Director and other authorities.

Perform other duties, as assigned.

Current Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

Certified in First Aid and CPR for all age groups transported.

Previous experience as a bus driver

Clear driving record

Excellent communication skills
Pre-Employment Requirements:
Criminal Background Check, Level II Fingerprint Screening, and Drug Screen.
