About the opportunity
Technology Services provides transformative technology leadership, strategy, and expertise through collaborative engagement with all University portfolios and their partners, with the goal to deliver outstanding digital experiences that support student, staff and research success. This role provides support to Southern Cross University, TAFE NSW and the Coffs Harbour Senior College; and to the National Marine Science Centre.
The Audio Visual and Conferencing Support Officer role is responsible for administering, supporting and enhancing the AV services and systems in delivering the University’s educational and research content for students and staff. The position engages with professional and academic staff and stakeholders to provide advice, training and support in the use and set up of conferences and events requiring audio-visual services. You will be responsible for:
- Undertaking design and configuration tasks associated with the administration, maintenance and enhancement of integrated audio-visual system hardware and software environments essential to the continuity of teaching and event delivery.
- Develop and delivery of end user training and documentation for operation of Audio visual and ICT systems, applications and software.
- Operation and configuration of audio-visual components required for a diverse range of live events, including Audio, Lighting and Vision systems.
About you
You will have a demonstrated understanding of integrated audio-visual systems and services with a sound approach to resolving issues and formulating solutions. Moreover, you will:
- Have tertiary qualifications with strong computing and audio-visual skills, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and knowledge and training.
- Demonstrated experience administering, configuring and troubleshooting enterprise integrated Audio Visual systems and associated components such as control, automation, audio (DSP) and video platforms.
- Have an understanding of network and ICT fundamentals critically dependent for the administration, operation and continuity of audio-visual systems
- Ideally have relevant administration and configuration experience with the AMX platform.
- Demonstrate a high level of organisational skills including the ability to plan tasks and meet deadlines working as part of a wider team.
- Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to translate technical information into document procedures effectively.
Salary and benefits

- Full-time, fixed-term contract (12 months)
- Located at Coffs Harbour Education Campus
- HEW Level 6. The base salary ranges from $85,037 - $93,316 per annum, plus 17% employer’s contribution to superannuation. The total remuneration package is up to $109,179.
