SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Director of Autism, Executive Clinical Supervisor, Senior Case Coordinator, the autism interventionist implements individual treatment plans as designed by the BCBA and assists with all aspects of clinical application, in home therapeutic settings, as well as the community.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide one-to-one behavior intervention services to individual clients as instructed by the Director of Autism, Executive Clinical Supervisor and Senior Case Coordinators based on individual treatment plans as written by BCBA.
  • Implement the goals/objectives for an individual child as defined in the treatment plan
  • Relay information regarding the child and his/her program to the Director and/or Executive Clinical Supervisor/Senior Case Coordinator
  • Implement Systematic Applied Behavior Analysis Approach, Picture Exchange Communication System, TEACCH, techniques as instructed by Clinical Director and/or Lead Interventionist
  • Provide/assist with daily program activities in the areas of self-help, communication, social, cognitive, motor and behavior
  • Construction of materials including stimuli for implementation of client’s programs and activities as prescribed by the treatment plan
  • Meet/communicate regularly with the Clinical Director and/or Senior Case Coordinator to discuss updated program plans and data collection procedures.
  • Responsible for assigned record-keeping including daily data collection or other documents concerning client/family needs

o Organization and overall quality of documentation of clients progress per the daily log

  • Assist with sanitation and hygiene in the clinic

o Organization and overall appearance of community clinic areas
o Organization and overall appearance of individualized treatment rooms
o Organization and overall appearance of interventionist prep room and stored stimuli

  • Observe universal health precautions and safe body mechanics. The safe body mechanicsinclude the ability to lift a child, bend and stoop to the level of a child and be agileenough to move quickly and respond to a child’s actions
  • Assist with assessments as requested by the Clinical Director and/ Senior CaseCoordinator
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings and in-service training provided for staff asrequired
  • Perform other duties as assigned

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- High School/GED required with some experience working with young children diagnosed with autism.
- Bachelor’s Degree (preferred) from an accredited institution
- Experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to pass the ASIP Proficiency Exam with at least 85% correct.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Ability to work in the home, school, and clinical settings. Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively with individuals. Bilingual a plus.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in
situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of
instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
