AV Estimator
Summary
Come work for a state of the art company that continues to push innovation with AV capabilities. The AV estimator will be responsible for designing/estimating/documenting customer Audio Visual solutions based on our clients needs.
Job Responsibilities and Requirements
- Estimating AV projects of all size – small projects up to enterprise (multi-million dollar projects).
- Ability to review construction plans, perform take-offs and review material specifications to compose BOM s and bid responses.
- Proficient at reading conventional and digital blueprints.
- Ability to attend project walk-throughs to survey site conditions and prepare reports for internal review / estimate preparation.
- Producing documentation suitable for sales presentations, system installation, and control system programming scopes.
- Layout and design telecommunications systems, as well as, voice, data, structured cabling (horizontal and vertical), and other low voltage systems.
- Prepare technical specifications; proposals and estimates.
- Review and evaluate shop drawings and product submittals.
- Detail-oriented, strong communication both written and verbally.
- Highly organized and ability to keep consistent workflow moving through estimating department on a timely basis.
- Ability to build instant rapports with clients, customers, and general contractors virtually as well as in person.
- Achieve and maintain productivity and quality performance standards established by the organization s policies and procedures that are in place.
Education and Experience Requirements
- Prior Commercial AV Estimation & Design experience of 2 – 4 years is
- Must be able to produce advanced audio-visual designs including control flow diagrams, video and audio components.
- Experience and knowledge with control systems such as AMX / Biamp / Crestron / Extron / Shure / QSC, distributed music and video Systems, and networking.
- Prior Automation systems experience / Construction management
- Video teleconferencing systems, Video Wall Experience.
- Experience in project budgets and labor costs, reading wiring schematics in AutoCAD
- Excellent documentation skills
- Ability to work on multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Must have a valid drivers license, clean background and be able to pass a drug screening based on company policies.
- A working knowledge of commercial construction practices in the greater Houston Texas is strongly preferred. Additional knowledge of the San Antonio and Austin markets highly desirable.
- Have a positive attitude and superior interpersonal skills for communication with colleagues, intra-departmental team members as well as clients.
- Works well independently as well as in a team setting.
