Allied Universal is Hiring Full Time Aviation Security Professionals at Newark Liberty International Airport, Newark NJ

Full Time : Hourly Pay : $18.00 per hour

$400 sign on bonus for those with a current SORA card!*

$350 sign on bonus for those with a current SIDA badge!*

$1000 sign on bonus for those with both current certifications!*

Qualified applicants must be able and willing to refrain from any and all personal electronic devices while on duty, maintain a neat and professional appearance at all times while in uniform, and maintain a professional demeanor at all times due to the serious nature of this post.

  • Bonus paid out as follows, half paid at 30 days with no disciplinary issues, second half paid out at 60 days with no disciplinary issues.

Shifts Available : Afternoon, Evening

Preferred experience : 1 - 2 years, Walk / Stand for long periods of time. Must be 21 + years of age

As an Allied Universal Aviation Security Officer, you will serve and safeguard clients, passengers, staff, vendors and all of those that traverse NEWARK LIBERTY INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT.

Responsibilities:

Allied Universal Aviation Security Officers shall perform the services specified herein at all Newark Liberty International Airport parking lots, access areas, screening areas, construction sites, fire watch and other posts and areas, and shall be directed by the Management Staff. Their duties shall include but shall not be limited to the following:
1. Observe and report suspicious activity and behavior to the Port Authority Police and supervisors / SOC.
2. Protect the areas to which they are assigned.
3. Enforce rules and regulations as set forth by the Port Authority, Allied Universal Standard Operating Procedures, Airport Post Orders and supervisory instructions as needed.
4. Familiarize themselves with all post orders.
5. Maintain an operationally efficient post and help those who require assistance or information, provided doing so does not distract from or prevent successful completion of security services.
6. Supervise and ensure compliance with Port Authority and federal rules and regulations regarding the identification of personnel and vehicles accessing the terminal.
7. Immediately report to Port Authority Police and your supervisors / SOC when any unauthorized individuals attempt to (or having already gained) access to the Facility without required authorization.
8. Immediately report any unruly or suspicious individuals to Port Authority Police and your supervisors / SOC
9. Immediately report any fires to Port Authority Police and your supervisors / SOC .
10. Direct foot and vehicular traffic at post, as required.
11. Provide construction escort services as required.
12. Conduct periodic inspections of all contractor work areas at designated times to ascertain compliance with security procedures.
13. Report unclaimed or unattended property to Port Authority Police and your supervisors / SOC.
14. Make full reports to supervisors / SOC of all unusual circumstances.
15. Continually perform normal and additional assigned job duties during emergencies as directed by the Manager.
16. Screen and/or log persons and or vehicles seeking access to restricted areas of the Facility.
17. Report to appropriate personnel (e.g., Contractor supervisor, Manager, supervisor, SOC etc.) hazardous conditions identified during the performance of their duties, including but not limited to ice, snow conditions, holes in fences, defective lighting and/or light outages, opened, unlocked or broken gates and sounding of alarms.
18. Respond to and investigate door alarms within a specified time period, resolving conditions and reporting to Security Operations Center.
19. Assist Port Authority Police by rendering aid to persons in public areas at the Facility when required until the arrival of medical assistance.
20. Respond to and assist in situations involving fires, explosions, bomb threats, floods, crowd control and all other types of unspecified emergencies.
21. Perform fire watch functions.
22. Report vehicle and patron accidents to Port Authority Police as well as supervisors / SOC. Preparing reports as required.
23. Monitor vehicles and personnel in secured/restricted areas.
24. Use Helius Devices to report incidents and log patrols.
25. Allied Universal Aviation Security Officers are required to report for duty prior to their assigned tour in order to stand roll call and to travel to their respective post.
26. Perform all other specific responsibilities and duties as required by the Manager.
27. Each position assigned hereunder shall be on post at all times during the scheduled hours and that post shall not be unoccupied for any reason during the scheduled shift unless properly relieved or location is secured in a Port Authority approved manner.
28. Dress in proper uniform at all times while on duty.

Minimum Requirements:

  • All Allied Universal Aviation Security Officers shall adhere to the Allied Universal Security uniform and appearance guidelines and its subsequent approved items while on duty (unless documented medical issues require otherwise),
  • All Allied Universal Aviation Officers must be at least 21 years of age or older at time of application.
  • Allied Universal Aviation Security Officers shall not use any personal electronic devices while on duty.
    Allied Universal Aviation Security Officers shall be certified by The New Jersey State Police under the N.J. SORA Act.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent, or 5 years of verifiable experience
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
    • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only
