Baker Position

Description of Opportunity:

We are looking for a reliable and skilled baker to join our Daylight Donuts team. There will be room for growth! Applicant must have open availability, reliable transportation to and from work, and be able to deal with stressful situations due to our high volume operation. Applicant must be able to multitask. Applicant must be task orientated, move quickly, and efficiently. A positive attitude and experience is a must!

Specific Job Responsibilities:

  • Read, understand and follow recipes, safety rules, machine operating instructions, and procedural manuals;
  • Perform bench work according to established scratch procedures when necessary;
  • Prepare Bakery products according to established recipes which include scratch recipes.
  • Prepare and fry donuts according to established procedures;
  • Maintain safety as the top priority in all aspects of our work, for our guests and employees;
  • Understand all the ingredients and purpose of each used in manufacturing scratch baked goods.
  • Assist in maintaining bakery backroom, cooler, ovens, stoves, and freezers;
  • Prepare all kinds of cake, raise donuts, muffins, cookies, bread, pastries, and finish orders;
  • Assemble necessary baking ingredients to prepare for baking operation including all scratch recipes;
  • Insure all baked goods are of the highest quality;
  • Comply with Daylight Donuts’ cleanliness plan in compliance with HACCP, ServSafe and all other applicable food codes and practices;
  • Write routine reports and correspondence; and,
  • Occasionally, work catering and special events;

Requirements:

  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and employees;
  • Associates/Bachelor degree in specialized formal culinary training in an accredited culinary program, or combination of culinary program and experience managing kitchens and food production;
  • Minimum of two years experience in culinary profession;
  • Experience in high volume catering or restaurant services;
  • ServeSafe or similar program certification;
  • Minimum of two years experience adhering to HACCP principals; Lift and/or move items weighing up to 50 lbs regularly; and,
  • Remain standing for entire shift assignments;

Hours:

12:00 midnight – 8:00 AM including weekend rotations and some holidays

Job Types:

Full-time/Part-time

Salary:

$16 to 18 /hour
