The owners of Solo Italiano and Solo Cucina Market have opened a Bakery and Italian Pasticceria in downtown Bath, Maine! We produce wholesale baked goods that reach along the coast in Maine and have a retail storefront Italian pastry shop with espresso bar that serves the local community year round. We have a great team, but as we have grown this -past year and we are now seeking one additional baker that can work alongside and learn from our Lead Bread Baker (Leon). Starting pay will be commensurate with experience, though we are also willing to train the right aspiring folks looking to master the craft.

Qualifications:

• 1-2 years experience with some style of baking, high volume (production) setting ideal
• experience operating deck oven or wood-fired oven
• experience basic starting recipes
• experience with artisanal breads and/or pastries
• commitment to high standards of quality
• willingness to learn and explore new techniques

Responsibilities:

• flexible scheduling though ability to work mornings will be requisite
• operating higher-volume technical baking equipment
• day-to-day production without constant oversight
• ability to communicate well and work on a small but tight team
• strong math for volume recipes
• strong time management skills for multitasking baking projects
• this job is a physically demanding position that involves bending, lifting (up to 50lbs), twisting, squatting and reaching

Note: Base pay range is stated with tips averaging an additional $2-3 per hour.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
