Market Square Bakehouse in downtown Amesbury is seeking a full time baker to round out our team. We are a small café serving coffee, baked goods, and grab-and-go food, with an open kitchen. We are looking for someone who can function without too much direction and is detail oriented. Our baking needs are currently fairly simple and can be handled with little experience, but there are opportunities for growth with the right candidate.

Baking duties will include:

• Arriving at 4:30 a.m. to complete the bake-off before we open at 6:30
• Proof and bake various pre-made croissants and other goods
• Scoop and bake scones
• Make quiches
• Assemble the display area with FOH opener

Prep duties will include:

• Assessing needs for the day with manager assistance
• Prepping our selection of pre-made salads, wraps and sandwiches
• Slicing meats and cheeses
• Making sauces and spreads
• Assembling parfaits
• Baking batches of eggs
• Roasting veggies
• Helping keep the walk-in clean, organized, and labeled
• Some dishwashing with FOH assistance

The ideal candidate is responsible, has ServeSafe certification, attention to detail, cleanliness, and is capable of self-direction. Great opportunity for those eager to do a little bit of everything in the BOH.

Experience:

• Baking: 1 year (Preferred)
• Food Preparation: 1 year (Required)

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Preferred)

License:

• ServSafe Food Handler (Preferred)
