First State is community bank headquartered in Middlebury, Indiana. We have branch offices in Goshen, Elkhart and South Bend. We take the term “Community Bank” to heart. Right now, we have an opening for an Data Processor in our Operations Department. This position works in our Middlebury, Indiana headquarters building. This position examines documents for accuracy and completeness and also spends time talking with our customers who call in for assistance.
Here are things that you would do during your work day:
- Examines document images generated within the Retail network for accuracy and completeness
- Examines uploaded maintenance documents for accuracy
- Records missing documentation and reports when necessary
- Reports to Branch Administration when trends in errors are noticed to improve development processes
- Serve as back up to central access point for all incoming phone calls from First State customers and prospects
- Provide friendly, caring customer service while processing transactions for both internal and external customers
- Utilize technology to help you and our customers
- Develop an understanding of our Bank’s products and services
- Transfer calls per customer request to specific FSB employees
- Assists other Operations Department Personnel if tasks are complete
And here are some skills that you will need:
- One year of banking experience preferred
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Friendly personality, positive attitude and professional image
- Ability to communicate with people from different backgrounds and age groups
- Proven customer service skills
- Ability to successfully complete our in-house training program
- Reliable transportation
- Willingness and ability to adjust to a change in work schedule with adequate notice
- Ability to use Microsoft Office programs

The position offers good working conditions and environment. You must be able to lift and move boxes weighing up to 25 pounds. You may be sitting or standing for long periods of time during your day.
