Beloved restaurant and aperitivo bar Dante NYC (#1 Best Bar in North America, 2019 & 2020) is headed West. Spring 2023 will see the launch of Dante Beverly Hills at The Maybourne Beverly Hills. Situated in the heart of the city within the famous Golden Triangle, The Maybourne Beverly Hills is the first North American property from Maybourne Hotel Group, owners and operators of London’s most legendary hotels - Claridge’s, The Connaught and The Berkeley. Summary of Position

The Barback will support and assist the Bartender with cleaning the bar, ensuring the bar is well stocked, preparing garnishes and attending to guests. This person should be knowledgeable about the drink and food menu and focused on providing quality service.

Roles and Responsibilities

Job duties include, although are not limited to:

• Assist team members and manager with opening and closing responsibilities
• Ensure Bartenders are properly stocked with clean glassware, supplies, and make sure garnishes are prepared
• Greet and acknowledge all guests in a warm and friendly manner
• Collect used glasses and plates from the counter
• Maintain the bar clean by wiping, cleaning, and mopping
• Attend to any guest requests and relay to servers, bartenders and managers when needed - Ensure items are stocked properly
• Reading materials are refreshed and in good condition.
• Legibly document pertinent information in restaurant logbook.
• Exhibit a friendly, helpful and courteous manner when dealing with guests and fellow colleagues.
• Perform all other duties as and when assigned by hotel management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Requirements - 1 years’ experience as a Barback in a similar environment in a bar or lounge
• Excellent multi-tasking and organizational skills
• Work flexible schedules and willing and able to work shift duties that may include evenings, nights, weekends and holidays
• Collaborate with Colleagues cross-departmentally
• Perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy - Work cohesively with Colleagues as part of a team

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk for extended periods of time, twist at the neck and trunk, bend at the waist and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, reach overhead, above shoulders and horizontally. Employees will use hands to handle objects and tools, and operate service equipment. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40-pound objects. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Employees may use vision to monitor food quality and quantity and may also order supplies, etc. Must be physically able to lift up to 50 lbs. and carry heavy trays and equipment, as well as delicate china and barware
• Ability to endure abundant physical movements throughout the work areas.
• Job requires indoor and outdoor service in fluctuating weather
