Who are we looking for?

The ideal A+R Uptown staff person would act as a bridge between the customer and the art installations. It is our staff that will guide the customers on their journeys of discovery, helping them blend what they see, eat, drink and engage with in a fun and thoughtful way. Ideally, staff will rise to the daily challenge of engaging diverse and discriminating audiences in creative ways. We hope staff will find themes that are relevant to the customers and provide them with an opportunity to make their own connections to the art and space. Staff are invited to help stimulate customer curiosity, imagination, and engagement by asking questions and encouraging active participation with the art. When staff actively engages the customers in looking and talking about the art, they will take with them a deeper understanding of the art and respect it more.

Strong desire to immerse yourself in an artistic environment

Beverage, Food and/or Guest Services background

High school or equivalent (Required)

What will you do?

The Arts and Rec crew member role consists of being an Ambassador for fun and a Welcome Agent; making some drinks, serving some food and creating memorable experiences

The ideal Crew Member will be self-motivated, great work ethic, and outgoing with strong interpersonal skills

Doing it all means: training in bartending, food service and guiding our guests through an artistic adventure

Deliver services within the Arts and Rec Brand Voice, culture and style

Ideally will take things into perspective. Where some see obstacles, you should see opportunities

Responsibilities

Greet guests and respond to guest inquiries and requests in a timely, friendly and efficient manner

Mix cocktail batches and garnish beverages according to recipe and portion control standards

Present and serve food and beverages to guests

Check guests for proper identification and serve alcoholic beverages to guests in accordance with federal, state, local and company laws and guidelines

Accurately total, process and collect payments from guests to include, but not limited to, using the point-of-sale system, handling money, processing credit and debit cards, making change and processing gift certificates, cards and vouchers

Stock and maintain the service stations and bar to include, but not limited to, beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws and stirrers, condiments, glassware, ice and produce

Cut, store and ensure product quality of all beverage-related perishables

Respond professionally to inebriated guests, as needed

Occasionally lift up to 30 pounds, as well as serve food items and beverages

Review and comprehend necessary documentation

Perform consistently throughout a high energy, eight hour shift
