The Intensive Behavior Center (IBC) is an intensive, short-term treatment facility for individuals who have intellectual disabilities and co-occurring mental illnesses. IBC provides an environment for building healthy, effective, and fulfilling lives so those receiving treatment can live successfully in the community after discharge.
In this critical role, the Behavioral Specialist will assist the Behavior Analyst in implementing and monitoring treatment plans that teach clients coping skills. Core responsibilities include assisting clients with day-to-day activities and recording their progress for analysis by a therapist or physician during regular checkups. Additional responsibilities include helping to implement treatment plans and working one-on-one with clients.
There are two levels of the Behavior Specialist at IBC. Level I is at pay rate 31.05 and Level II is at pay rate 32.05. Minimum qualifications for each level are listed later in this posting announcement.

What You Can Offer Us

Minimum Qualifications
Behavior Specialist I:
- Master’s Certificate of bachelor’s degree in psychology, education, social work, mental health or related field.
- Will consider an associate degree with four years post degree work in a behavioral health setting providing ABA services with the intent to become certified as a RBT within 1year.
- Prefer candidate already certified as a Registered Behavioral Technician (RBT).
- Proven work experience designing and implementing behavior support plans.
- Preference will be given to candidates who have implemented behavior support plans for two (2) years, with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
- Must have training or experience in ABA, experience with I/DD and implementing behavioral services.
- Experience conducting functional behavior assessments, data collection, graphing data etc.
- Equivalent combinations of directly related education and directly related experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Behavior Specialist II:
- Master’s degree in behavior analysis or related field (e.g., psychology, education) with preference given to those with a degree or certification from a gradate program accredited by the Association for Behavior Analysis.
- In lieu of a master’s degree, will accept a bachelor’s degree paired with behavior-analytic coursework, with the intent to become certified as a Board Certified Assoistant to a Behavior Analyst (BCaBA) within 1 year.
- Preference will be given to candidates already certified as a BCaBA.
- Proven work experience designing and implementing behavior support plans.
- Preference will be given to candidates who have implemented behavior support plans for four (4) years, with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
- Must have training or experience in ABA, experience with I/DD and implementing behavioral services.
- Experience conducting functional behavior assessments, data collection, graphing data etc.
- Equivalent combinations of directly related education and directly related experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
