Community Mental Health Therapist - LCPC, LCSW, LMFT, LPC, LSW, MHP, QMHP

REPORTS TO: Licensed Clinical Supervisor
PURPOSE: The Community Mental Health Therapist is responsible for the provision of comprehensive clinical services to clients and their families in their natural setting - the community. This includes the provision of individual, family, group therapies, assessment, planning, community support, discharge planning, interdisciplinary teamwork, and community liaison.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties may be assigned)
- Maintain confidentiality of records relating to clients' treatment
- Gather information about community mental health needs and resources that could be used in conjunction with therapy
- Plan outreach and referral activities in surrounding communities
- Assess clients' mental condition based on the review of client information, interviews, observation, tests, and collaboration with other staff members
- Serve as a client advocate to coordinate required services or to resolve emergency problems in crisis situations
- Develop and implement treatment plans
- Conduct initial family assessments and refer patients, clients, or family members to community resources or to specialists as necessary
Qualifications for Mental Health Therapist
- Experience with providing diagnostic assessment and therapy services to a full range of individuals from youth through adulthood
- Valid license as an LMFT, LCSW, or LCPC is preferred but not required. New Master-level graduates are welcome to apply as well as students looking for internships.
- Maintain professional licensure and/or certification throughout employment with this agency
- Must be able to work a flexible work schedule including evenings and weekends on occasion
- Excellent organizational, written, and oral communication skills
- Attends all required staff organizational meetings and treatment planning meetings in order to facilitate an integrated, interdisciplinary team approach to service
- Maintains client confidentiality and adherence to HIPAA requirements at all times
- Completes all required documentation in a timely manner consistent with agency guidelines
The position requires the flexibility to work in a variety of different conditions, including working in various settings throughout the community and traveling to and from required work locations that may be less than optimal at times.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
