Greater Seacoast Community Health is in search of a compassionate and experienced Behavioral Health Clinician (School Counselor) for the start of the 2023-2024 academic school year.

The School-based Behavioral Health Clinician will provide ongoing direct mental health counseling, behavioral support, and comprehensive treatment/behavioral planning to students and families of Somersworth High School in Somersworth. New Hampshire. The Behavioral Health Clinician will work closely with students, families and faculty to provide counseling services and support to promote the academic, social and emotional well-being of the students.

Qualifications:

* Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling, Social Work, or other related human service required; NH License (LICSW, LCMHC, LMFT) required.

* Ability to work effectively with adolescents, families, and professionals from a wide range of cultural, social and economic backgrounds.

*Experience working in a school environment, preferably in a high school setting.
Ability to provide crisis management, conflict resolution and behavioral modification skills.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Serve as a behavioral health clinician for the Somersworth High School. Provide mental health services to students identified by Goodwin Community Health medical providers, parents, teachers, school staff, or who self-identify as needing additional supports for symptoms related to anxiety, depression, etc.

Provide appropriate behavioral health services to include: individual and/or group counseling and intervention, comprehensive assessment and screenings, consultation, diagnosis, case conceptualization, and brief interventions.

Utilize standard, evidence-based clinical measures to assess patient’s symptoms and response to treatment, through individual and group therapy services.

Provide effective treatment planning and assist students to successfully set and achieving goals to improve psychosocial functioning

Evaluate crisis situations and apply appropriate interventions as needed, or follow required school protocols

Provide students with linkages to community services, resources and supports.
Work collaboratively with members of the Goodwin Community Health primary care team

Work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team

Provide consultation to medical providers and other team members as needed
Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the student’s medical record and other required systems

Attend staff meetings, school meetings (i.e. IEP), trainings, supervision and in-service trainings to enhance knowledge and engage in professional practice. Attend monthly Behavioral Health
