The DHHS Division of Public Health is seeking a temporary Bi-Lingual Community Health Worker to assist the Central District HD in Grand Island for a 1 year assignment with the possibility of an extension.

Provide additional capacity for pandemic response at Central District Health Department in Grand Island. This position is responsible for helping clients and their families navigate and access community services, resources, and adopt healthy behaviors, particularly as it relates to COVID-19 response activities.

Minimum Qualifications: Coursework/training or experience related to research, presentation, or publication in an area related to the programs or functions of the employing agency; business administration; accounting; customer service; and/ or technical support work, including use of computer software such as word processing, spreadsheets, and database management.

Bilingual in Spanish and English, positive attitude, commitment to positive outcomes for the community.
Knowledge of the principles and practices of program evaluation including the assessment of goals and methods and the measurement of
programmatic achievement; the theories of individual and group behavior; the techniques of using multimedia training aids and equipment; the principles and practices of public information distribution.
