Birthday Party Host
The Downers Grove Park District enriches the community through natural area preservation and exceptional recreation, parks, and facilities. Each employee plays an important role in inspiring memorable experiences for the community of almost 600 acres of parks and facilities.
Reporting to the Recreation Supervisor, Birthday Party Host will organize and prepare a birthday parties for children ages 3 -10 while leading games, arts and crafts and a variety of planned activities so that children can laugh, make friends, and be active.
Pay rate: $13.00 per hour.
Hours
- Various Hours Saturday average is 3-6 hours
- Saturday and Sunday 9:00am-3:00pm
- Flexible schedule based on staff availability
- There may be additional hours for meetings, trainings, or special events.
Essential Functions
- Develops and maintains good working relationships among staff
- Organize and lead the Birthday Party Service based on the themes selected by the parents.
- Prepares the party room and materials before the event and cleans up after the party.
- Interacts with all party guests, including children.
- Provides prompt, efficient, and courteous service to guests.
- Tracks attendance at each party.
- Maintains courteous and effective communication between staff, participants and parents
- Attends staff meetings and trainings, as scheduled by the Recreation Supervisor
- Must have regular, consistent, and predictable attendance
- Follows and adheres to Park District policy and safety guidelines
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Job may be modified at any time
Requirements
- At least 15 years old.
- Certified in CPR and First Aid – training provided by the District.
- Able to work well with others and enjoys working with children.
- Must successfully complete a background check
