The role will be primarily Limerick-based with opportunities to progress. The BMS Design engineer will work as part of a team of engineers in a lead capacity delivering exciting projects to national and multinational clients. It requires diligence, attention to detail, good communication skills, strong HVAC, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to work as part of a team. The BMS Design Engineer shall be responsible for carrying out the following project related activities to support the Basis of Design and Detailed Design for the BMS system.

Key Responsibilities

· The role will involve the ability to work independently with client to understand the individual project requirements then delivering the BMS system design to a specific standard for the BMS contractor to develop the installation detail which will be monitored & witnessed for compliance with the design

· Client interface management, to understand project requirements and presentation of design at design stage gates

· Design of control systems across various BMS platforms to develop the required project documentation; BMS I/O lists, HVAC and Utility Sequence of Operations documents, Scope of Works, Functional Specifications, Hardware Specifications.

· Design BMS System Architecture & Topography

· Assume the lead technical role on BMS projects.

· Provide quality control for Mechanical Engineering projects across all offices

· Assist Modellers to produce detailed working drawings in 3D and scheme drawings

· Develop project scope with design team / client

· Produce budgets and reports for clients

· Primarily office based, occasionally attending client meetings as required

· Liaise with clients and consultants.

Key Skills

· Degree in Building Services Engineering of Mechanical Engineering

· Min 5 years Mechanical Building Services Consultancy Design experience

· Competent user of the following Autodesk Applications (AutoCad/Revit/Design Review/Revit MEP)

· Experience in a pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device, data centre, or health-related facility

· Experience in a GMP manufacturing facility and Data Centre’s.

· Competent in the design and specification of mechanical building services in a variety of industry and project types, sizes and complexity

· Experience of delivering detailed designs through full design cycle

· Strong knowledge of MEP, including HVAC and Public Health services design

· Building Information Modelling (BIM) experience will be advantageous
