POSITION SUMMARY

Okanagan Specialty Fruits Inc. (OSF) is seeking to fill our hand palletizing Box Stacker position.

In the final production station you will support production and quality control by ensuring the final packaged and boxed product is set for delivery in a quality and consistent manner. In the Stacker station you will stack the boxed products coming off the packaging line onto pallets in a predetermined configuration.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Ability to lift and stack boxes that weigh up to 35lbs overhead.

· Ability to follow multiple stacking patterns onto pallets.

· Occasional dumping / rework of product.

· Repetitive heavy lifting.

· Confirm label, case coding and tape are applied appropriately and readable on a finished good case.

· Attach appropriate labels and tags to packages or pallets when required.

· Help disposal of products in dumpster.

· Stretch wrap products.

· Ability to safely utilize a pallet jack.

· Assemble cardboard boxes.

· Follow the chain of command.

· Do not leave the job post/area without notifying the supervisor or lead.

· Maintain a clean and safe working area.

· Attention to detail and the ability to prioritize work to meet assigned deadlines.

· Active listener.

· Exhibits a professional demeanor toward others.

· Assists others in an effective manner while following company procedures.

· Self-Motivated.

· Well-organized, able to prioritize and multi-task all in a fast-paced environment.

· Observe all machinery for issues in assigned area.

· Demonstrate a daily commitment to continuous improvement

· Report any issues with product flow or production to the supervisor immediately

· Perform other tasks as necessary and as requested by the Production Manager or Production Supervisor

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

· High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred

· 2+ years’ experience in food processing a plus

PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS

· Lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs. safely

· Lifting up to 35lbs overhead, repetitively

· Standing for long periods of time, frequent twisting and bending, use of both hands, manual & finger dexterity for rolling/manipulating

· Cold, wet, and damp climates of 33°F-38°F

· Exposure to loud noises

· The requirement of the use of safety equipment when operating machinery that may include but will not be limited to protective clothing, eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, and safety shoes

· Repetitive motions

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
