Reliable Tire Disposal (Burnet, Texas) is the leading tire recycling facility. We recycle tires for over ¾ the state of Texas. Since 2011, Reliable Tire Disposal started off as a family operation collecting used tires with truck and horse trailer and has turned into a large plant with a fleet of vehicles and a second location in South Texas.
As we are currently expanding in the Central Texas location, we are looking for experienced box truck drivers (Burnet, Texas) to be a vital members of the team by providing strategic and tactical leadership to help meet performance goals and objectives to help support the business growth.
Box Truck Drivers are responsible for the collection of used tires from customer facilities and transportation of the tires back to Reliable Tire Disposal facility. In addition to the tire collections, the driver also functions as the main point of customer contact. Upholding Reliable Tire Disposal standards of customer service and creating records of all transactions in accordance with company paperwork. Reliable Tire Disposal drivers are responsible for safe driving to and from our customer locations and loading tires.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Customer service and creating records of all transactions in accordance with company paperwork.
· Operates a box truck according to applicable state and federal transportation laws. Dispatching from Burnet, Texas and returning to Burnet, Texas.
· Transports loads safely and in a timely manner over required route, obeying all traffic laws and observing all safety regulations.
· Deftly maneuvers the box truck and into loading and unloading areas; follows helper signals.
· Assists with loading and unloading of tires.
· Maintains the cleanliness of truck (cab and box) ensuring that daily trash is disposed of properly upon returning to the yard.
· Ensures that keys to truck are returned to driver room prior to end of shift.
· Maintains signed manifests, monies collected, and other required paperwork; delivers documentation to the office or other appropriate staff when route is complete.
· Completion of daily pre and post trip inspections using the Fleetio app in order to facilitate routine service on trucks, reports maintenance malfunctions to mechanic supervisor via Fleetio.
· Must be physically capable of loading tires, lacing tires, and lift on 100 lbs. throughout the shift.
· Ability to perform responsibilities under varying weather conditions and in a fast-paced environment
· Perform a ‘rough grade’ on tires as they are being loaded, in order to assist in sales department.
· Communicate customer status and driver status to Route Manager.
· Compliance with all safety rules and regulations, including PPE.
· Performs other related duties as assigned by Route Manager or CEO/CFO.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to speak professionally and courteously with customers and staff at delivery points.
- Two years experience in operation of 24 ft box truck or equivalent.
- Simple math skills- addition and multiplication.
- Ability to remain focused in busy environment.
