This position is responsible for implementing New Belgium’s brand strategy through digital content, social media community engagement, and our email program. The role is predominantly focused on developing social media plans and managing New Belgium’s social media communities across all platforms; generating ideas/concepts and helping to create creative and compelling content for social and digital platforms that reinforce key messages and stories (integrated with other marketing initiatives when appropriate); and engaging directly with existing and target audiences across social media platforms with the goal of strengthening brand awareness and affinity, increasing brand preference, and ultimately supporting our marketing objectives tied to annual growth.


Essential Duties:

  • Manage New Belgium’s social media presence – across platforms including Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, Facebook, Untappd, Pinterest – in ways that tell a compelling and cohesive story relevant to each audience and stand out among both craft beer competitors and likeminded, highly-admired brands across categories.
  • Develop high-quality, brand-forward content and social plans and content calendars in line with our social media platform channel strategy.
  • Manage New Belgium’s social media calendar; Work with internal stakeholders – especially brand managers – to support product launches and campaigns.
  • Help to concept, develop, and refine all New Belgium social media content including photography, graphics, video, copywriting, etc., in collaboration with the Digital Content Manager, internal creative team, and external agency.
    • Draft copy for captions, graphics, and other needs that fits New Belgium’s tone of voice and high standards for quality and relevance.
  • Ensure our social media activities are integrated with other marketing activities and effectively serves the business through clear, metrics-driven objectives developed in concert with the Digital Marketing Manager.
  • Manage email calendar; Concept, build, and coordinate email content. Analyze email performance and optimize future execution based on key learnings.
  • Produce regular analysis for leadership on the performance and trajectory of New Belgium’s social media presence across platforms; Synthesize learnings, insights, and opportunities from available data as well as outside research, data, and observations.
  • Manage and engage with our social media communities daily; Work to ensure New Belgium is active in the social media discourse, especially on key issue areas where New Belgium is involved/invested.
  • Function as internal subject matter expert. Stay on top of trends, news, and insights relevant to our brand, our social strategy, and the platforms on which we operate; Leverage these insights to proactively identify and propose opportunities and potential shifts in our approach. When relevant, share insights internally with other content and community managers to maintain best-in-class presence across full brand portfolio.
  • Work with our taproom and regional social media account managers to ensure quality and consistency that fits the purpose of these accounts and reflects the New Belgium brand story and strategy overall.

Education/ Experience/Skills:

  • 4+ years of experience managing brand social media and a track record of building and executing social strategies that stand apart and break through.
  • Strong proficiency in use and best practices of all social media platforms, as well as scheduling/posting, data analytics, and social listening tools.
  • Relentlessly proactive approach with a “hunger for better” and a creative mindset full of ideas (and an ability to assess how concepts would perform and/or resonate).
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, workstreams, and complex tasks simultaneously.
  • Confident in an environment that requires self-direction, constant collaboration, and outstanding communications skills.
  • Excellent writing abilities, especially captions that communicate often complex topics in simple terms with an undercurrent of humor and fun.

Percent of Travel: 10% - 25%

Wage information is provided in compliance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act and is Bell’s and New Belgium's good faith and reasonable estimate of the compensation range and benefits offered for this position. The compensation offered to the successful applicant may vary based on factors including experience, skills, education, location, or other position-related reasons.

Starting Salary Range: $59,000.00 - 69,000.00
