Business Analyst Accessibility

The Texas Department of Family and Protective Servicesrequires the services of 2 Business Analyst Accessibility who will be responsible for technical and consultative work, primarily in planning, designing, and improving Electronic Information Resources (EIR) compliance with accessibility policies and rules across the agency. This role may also be responsible for the following:

  • Analyzing EIR, including webpages, digital presentations, and more for compliance with accessibility standards.
  • Performing research on agency EIR.
  • Maintaining and managing a catalog of EIR requiring remediation.
  • Monitoring accessibility standards as defined by the agency’s Accessibility Coordinator.
  • Assisting the Accessibility Coordinator with the functions of the role, including collecting, documenting, and maintaining a library of exception requests related to exceptions from accessibility policies.
  • Evaluate and audit accessibility compliance of hardware and software by performing testing with assistive technology such as screen readers, including producing reports detailing findings of the evaluation.
  • Consulting and communicating with agency staff regarding creating accessible EIR and remediate inaccessible EIR.
  • Training staff on accessibility best practices.

7Required :- Experience with Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, Power Point, and Visio.)

5Required:- Professional experience with accessibility and accessibility compliance for Electronic Information Resources (EIR).

5Required :- Knowledge and experience working with local, state, and federal laws relating to accessibility standards including WCAG 2.1 AA and Section 508.

5Required:-Ability to use various assistive technology various accessibility applications (e.g., Sort Site®, Adobe® Suite, JAWS®, Zoom Text®, WAVE®, etc.)

4Required:- Experience with accessibility best practices in web development technologies such as HTML 5, CSS 3, JavaScript and ARIA.

3Required:- Knowledge of software procurement processes and review of vendor accessibility documentation, e.g. VPATS, ACRs, and Test Reports.

4Preferred:- Experience with data visualization tools, such as Tableau Software’s Tableau Desktop, or Microsoft Power BI.

2Preferred:- Experience with Atlassian Confluence.

2Preferred:- Knowledge of quality management systems.

Job Type: Contract

Salary: $57.00 - $60.00 per hour
