Customers are at our core and the Revenue and Statistics team delivers excellent customer experience by ensuring our customers and local communities can trust what they see on their bill. We do this by using a risk-based approach to validate rate changes, bill credits, energy payments, and refunds impacting customer bills. We also partner with cities, counties, and state agencies to ensure compliance with applicable law, regulations, and standards.
Position Summary
The Principal Business Analyst position will be responsible for data analysis, research, reporting, and overall assistance with business decision-making. This individual will evaluate the effectiveness of, and recommend improvements in, business processes, practices, and procedures. This includes risk mitigation, understanding of the various controls, and the ability to balance a macro and micro perspective of the business operations. The successful candidate will have an opportunity to collaborate with colleagues who are committed and passionate about customer advocacy. This requires a resilient self-starter who can adapt in a rapidly changing environment.
The position is hybrid and will work primarily from your home office with occasional visits to the Oakland General Office as business needs require. The successful candidate can live anywhere within the PG&E service territory.
The Part-Time schedule consists of 3 days per week, 8 hours per day with flexibility around the days worked.
This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The a ssigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory.
PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.
A reasonable salary range is:
Bay Area Minimum: $83,640.00
Bay Area Maximum: $124,200.00
OR
California Minimum: $73,794.00
California Maximum: $118,198.00
Responsibilities:
Drive continuous improvement by performing analysis on complex problems, anticipating issues, presenting findings and recommendations to stakeholders at all levels of the organization Support an end-to-end billing and revenue management framework that optimizes testing efforts, mitigates risk, and continuity of data integrity Apply advanced knowledge in customer and program management to assess impacts to the billing and revenue framework arising from developments in the rapidly changing regulatory landscape Support the leadership team with special projects such as new business initiatives, change management and audits Provide feedback and coaching to peers and leaders across the organization to strengthen programs, processes, and controls Be comfortable in questioning the status quo and business decisions; present alternatives, as appropriate.
Qualifications:
Minimum: Bachelor of Science in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering or job-related discipline or equivalent work experience 8 years of related work experience
Desired: MBA or graduate degree Depth and breadth of expertise in multiple qualitative and quantitative analytical methods Utility industry experience including familiarity with CA Public Utilities Code, Tariffs, Rules, regulations and standards, local ordinances Billing and Customer Data Reporting Systems experience including CC&B, SAP, mainframe, Oracle Utility Analytics, SQL, Teradata, BRIO, CRCR, Microsoft Power BI suite, and Informatica Familiarity with agile and other project management methodologies
