We are growing our team with a highly visible and important role to the Tandigm Enterprise - the Business Data Steward. In this role, you will promote the appropriate understanding and use of data assets and be responsible for defining the procedures, policies, data meanings, data definitions, and requirements of the domains assigned to them. You must have a strong knowledge of the business requirements and policies/processes of the organization and work on a day-to-day basis with an organization’s data.

​This key role will report to the Enterprise Data Governance Manager and will partner with Business Leadership, IT, Compliance, Legal, and Information Security to improve the quality, protection and value of key data assets. This role supports the strategic priorities of the organization and drives better data analytics, operation excellence and decision making.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Define the data and identify assets starting with the Finance Data Domain and potentially expanding to other Data Domains in the enterprise
  • Maintain quality of the data using customer feedback, concerns, questions; internally reporting metrics; evaluating and identifying issues; and coordinating and implementing corrections regularly
  • Monitor data usage to assist teams, share best practice trends in data use, and provide insight into how and where teams can use data to help in day-to-day decision-making
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts, monitor ongoing results, define process areas for review, and conduct benchmarking activities to ensure best in class results for data management best practices
  • Independently drive business term definition, review, and approvals in collaboration with functional teams
  • Understands and can articulate the key components of Data Governance (stewardship/ownership, metadata management, compliance, data quality, policies, and processes)
  • Collaborate with business, data/technical teams on data sourcing, catalogues, dictionaries, and lineage mapping exercises
  • Consistently exhibits behavior and communication skills that demonstrate Tandigm Health’s commitment to superior customer service, including quality, care and concern with each and every internal and external customer
  • Uses, protects, and discloses Tandigm’s patients’ protected health information (PHI) only in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards and protects Tandigm assets from unauthorized access, disclosure, modification, destruction or interference.
  • Adheres to and responsible to abide by all information security policies, processes, and/or activities
  • Performs additional duties as assigned

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college
  • MBA preferred

EXPERIENCE

  • 5-7 years’ experience in data stewardship, data governance and data management
  • Experience in healthcare industry preferred
  • Experience working with business and technical teams to define business and technical metadata (building a data catalog/business glossary)
  • Has worked with business and technical teams to triage and resolve data issues
  • Deep understanding of standards, policies and expectations regarding the availability and quality of data
  • Ability to create/manage communities, domains, assets (business, data, compliance, technology), relationships and dashboards
  • Hands on experience with data cataloging, data profiling, data quality, business rule definition/data quality rule definition
  • Strong consulting and interpersonal skills; able to interface with all levels of the organization and tailor communication appropriately
  • Excellent communicator, negotiator and collaborator with various business stakeholders driving towards consensus
  • Skilled at work session facilitation, team management and cross-functional collaboration
  • Experience with project management preferred
