SUMMARY:
The Business Development Manager (“BDM”) is responsible for the North American go-to market strategy for Sure-Seal Connections with a specific focus on lead generation for the PEI organization and maximizing sales growth in new accounts in specific targeted vertical markets.
The BDM will develop strategic and tactical plans, identify, and manage internal and external resources to increase sales to customers, with particular focus on design-in opportunities for Sure-Seal’s BPI (Branded Product Initiative) range of products.
The BDM must have a thorough understanding and knowledge of their assigned markets, key programs, products, and competitors in the industry.
The BDM must work closely with sales, marketing, product, engineering, and operations to be successful.
The BDM will be measured by their ability to develop new program/product engagements with customers in their target markets and successfully and materially differentiate Sure-Seal Connections from its competitors.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- BA/BS or equivalent
- Five to Seven years (minimum) professional selling experience in the electro-mechanical components industry.
- Experience in a Manufacturing and/or Private Labeling Brand.
- Knowledge of technologies, applications, products, and programs related to their industry assignment.

ESSENTIAL TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop strategic and tactical plans to increase sales in assigned target markets.
- Establish and identify leads for the PEI Sales organization.
- Set targets and goals for the PEI Sales organization, and where applicable hold the teams accountable for delivery.
- Develop a deep understanding of customers’ business models, their overall goals and business needs, and how Sure-Seal Connections can provide solutions to meet those needs.
- Act as a consultant to customers, educate customers on SSC products and services setting clear expectations for deliverables, and recommend solutions that deliver solid ROI to customers and SSC.
- Initiate and maintain responsive and productive working relationships with clients throughout the product lifecycle and resolve client issues and concerns.
- Assist customers in decreasing their design cycle and time to market on new business/program development.
- Document customer interactions and issues, and record details of new opportunities, inquiries, complaints, comments, and all associated internal actions taken and/or information provided.
- Represent customer needs and be their voice in new product development and improvement initiatives.
- Hold Webinars/Training Programs for both SSC’s External and Internal customers. Including but not limited to the PEI Sales Team.
- Attend industry meetings and trade shows with the goal of understanding the industry’s new and existing product road maps and technologies.
- Have a clear understanding of SSC’s internal capabilities and work collaboratively with other departments to ensure 100% customer satisfaction.
- Communicate on a regular basis with PEI Outside and Inside Sales Representatives responsible to insure seamless customer service.
