The Opportunity
The Business Line Risk Sr Analyst position will provide oversight over various risk routines within the Business Line Risk Team of Ally Lending. The primary focus of this role will be leading and executing the Ally Lending Documented Procedure Oversight program, and the continued build and development of this program as part of the Business Line Risk framework. Additionally, this role will lead execution activities for other programs within the Ally Lending risk framework including business continuity routines, maintenance of the review management schedule, liaison for audit/exams/risk assessments, BL privacy routines, complaint/claims review and challenge, and licensing renewal activity. This role will be hands on requiring someone who is comfortable LEADing elements of the risk program and working in a fast-paced environment across multiple cross-functional areas including Operations, Provider Risk, Sales, Finance, Credit Risk, Compliance, and Legal partners. This role will also serve as a liaison to external risk partners including Independent Risk, Enterprise Risk, and Operational Risk Management teams. We want a team member who will look for ways to challenge the status quo and improve efficiency and effectiveness of processes with a focus on risk practices, operational compliance, and consumer best practices. This position offers an excellent and challenging opportunity to apply risk management principles to a business that is a subsidiary of a large financial institution.
The Work Itself
- Lead both the annual and off-cycle procedure review process and governance routines
- Lead efforts in the identification of required procedures for Lending
- Lead review and challenge and stakeholder engagement activities of Business Line Risk procedures to ensure procedures are documented with appropriate amount of detail
- Develop a consistent, repeatable complaint and/or claims review process to identify trends of potential risk exposure to the Lending
- Lead the execution of both internal and external inquires, Audit request, Testing request, or State of Federal level exam support
- Lead efforts in the annual license renewal process by collaboration with stakeholders for timely renewal documentation submission
- Provide ongoing communication to risk partners and stakeholders regarding ongoing progress and status
- Work with business on ongoing initiatives to develop recommendations for process control improvements
- Implement procedures to ensure accuracy and a sustainable process
- Understand, comply, maintain, and reinforce regulatory and business line policies and procedures/guidelines
- Continue to grow with the Risk Department as the business line evolves
The Skills You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 3-5 years of related experience (e.g. risk management, compliance) preferably in financial services or similar industry
- Prior experience coordinating, consolidating, and reviewing deliverables for internal audits and regulatory exams preferred.
- Familiarity with CFPB and FCRA as applicable to closed-end credit products a plus.
- High-level of critical thinking, problem-solving capability, and research-oriented skills
- Well-organized and detail-oriented
- Ability to adapt to change quickly
- Demonstrates excellent interpersonal and communication skills (personal, written and presentation) and the ability to work cross-functionally
- Ability to manage several priorities and deliver timely results
- Strong skills in Archer, MS Excel, Word, SharePoint, and PowerPoint required
