Job Description:The Business Office Assistant is responsible for front office departmental functions in support of USPI’s mission, vision, and facility goals. Under the direction of the Business Office Manager, he/she is responsible for covering any aspect of the business office including Accounts Receivable/Payable, Insurance Verification, Registration, and other special projects as required. This position works collaboratively with both the Administrator and the clinical leadership team while providing quality work that supports excellent patient care.

Areas of Responsibility: (include but not limited to the following)
Accounts Payable: knowledge of invoice payments processing
Insurance Verification: verifies insurance prior to patient' s arrival; calculating and informing patients of amount due; communicating with the Dr. office's
Registration: provides back-up
Other Office Functions: bank deposits including recording and maintaining deposit log; scanning critical documents; surgical case analysis
Required Skills:
Qualifications:
Education: High School Graduate
Experience: Minimum 3 years of hospital, surgery center, or medical office experience preferred
Ability to use time wisely in preparing work area to meet high-paced demand
Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
Good command of the English language, both verbal and written
Positive attitude and willingness to learn
