The Minnehaha Country Club is celebrating our 118th year of operations, and we are currently seeking passionate and team-oriented restaurant professionals to join our team. Minnehaha Country Club operates two full-service, year-round restaurants, as well as a robust on-site catering/events operation. With some forecasted turnover we have opportunities in both our formal and casual restaurants. The positions are available immediately for the successful candidate. Minnehaha Country Club is Sioux Falls’ premier country club, operates year-round and serves membership of approximately 740 families. The Club features an immaculate championship 18-hole golf course and several of the finest restaurants in the region, as well as swimming, tennis, and fitness amenities.

Our Cabana/Snack Bar Assistant Manager will report to the Cabana/Snack Bar Manager and assist the pool staff with executing food and beverage service for Minnehaha’s members.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Cabana/Snack Bar Manager are part-time/full-time and have a starting salary of $16.00 - $17.00 hourly based on skill and experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Able to lead staff through steps of service; sets and maintains consistent excellence in service standards.
  • Hires, trains, supervises, schedules and evaluates restaurant and lounge staff.
  • Plans pool set-up based on anticipated traffic and member needs.
  • Inspects pool employees to ensure that they are in proper and clean uniforms at all times.
  • Regularly analyzes revenue and expense reports to monitor and ensure the pool operates favorably to budget; makes adjustments to achieve financial goals.
  • Confirms time, attendance and hours worked and approves departmental payroll prior to submitting it to the Accounting Office.
  • Provides appropriate reports concerning employee hours, schedules, pay rates, job changes, tip pools, etc.
  • Receives and resolves complaints concerning restaurant and cart service.
  • Serves as liaison between the pool and kitchen staff.
  • Assures that all side-work is accomplished and that all cleaning of equipment and storage areas is completed according to schedule.
  • Directs pre-meal meetings with pool personnel; relays pertinent information such as house count and menu changes, special member requests, etc.
  • Assures the correct appearance, cleanliness and safety of pool area, and beverage storage areas, equipment and fixtures; checks the maintenance of all equipment in these areas and reports deficiencies and maintenance concerns.
  • Trains staff on all aspects of the POS system.
  • Assures that the pool and other club areas are secure at the end of the business day.
  • Works with culinary team to update, review and print all pool menu changes.
  • Assures that local and state laws and the club’s policies and procedures for the service of alcoholic beverages are consistently followed.
  • Assists in service needed.
  • Attends scheduled staff meetings.
  • Performs other appropriate assignments and projects as required by the Food and Beverage Director and General Manager/Chief Operating Officer.

Knowledge, Experience and Abilities


  • Responsible for management and leadership of all Pool service staff.
  • Working knowledge of food, wine, sprits, and beer items, typical of a full-service restaurant/bar.
  • Maintains a high level of visibility and member contact throughout service hours.
  • Knowledge of and ability to perform required role during emergency situation.
  • Technical competency in MS Office, e-mail, web browsing, and Point of Sale Software required; competency in Club Essentials Club Management Software preferred.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Required to stand for long periods and walk, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, stretch and twist or reach.
  • Push, pull or lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Continuous repetitive motions.
  • This is a typical professional kitchen work environment, which may be hot, humid, and noisy.
  • Some outdoor work required as dictated by specific events.
