Job Description

S&H Cabinets is a commercial millwork company located in Fontana located near the 10/15/60 Fwy. Our Projects are based out of Southern California area counties. We manufacture Custom Cabinetry/Millwork for Hospitals, Schools, Labs, Churches, Commercial buildings.

Position Overview: We have a long term full-time Engineer position available.

Employee will work full time at our shop in Fontana Monday - Friday 5am - 1:30pm.

This is NOT a remote position, we're looking for an Engineer with experience in Submittal (Shop Drawings). ***Microvellum skills are preferred***

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Consistently be at work Monday – Friday 8 hour shift (5am – 1:30pm), with some overtime as required.
• Punctuality, Dependability and Reliability are critical.
• Working knowledge of Microvellum Software: Drawing and editing in 2d & 3d, Prompts, Properties, Global Variables, Specification groups, Materials setup, Create Work Order, Print Reports
• Working knowledge of 2d & 3d Autocad: Commands, blocks, plotting, settings, PDF import
• Ability to interpret Architectural drawings / Sketches and follow verbal or written directions to achieve design intent
• Must be able to communicate effectively in speaking and writing English
• Understand the "Redline" process of revisions and Re Submittals
• Work independently with little or no direction or in a team environment while achieving completion date/Time .
• Able to work with Project managers, Production Manager, Shop Lead, and Co-workers to achieve company goals
• Recognize missing information and relay this to Project Manager for RFI
• Troubleshooting skills to come up with varies cost efficient solutions in minimal time
• Well organized and able to manage time effectively.
• Able to multitask and work on multiple projects at the same time
• Familiar with Woodwork Institute Standards and ADA codes
• Familiar with different materials: Plastic Laminate, Wood Veneers, Edgebanding, hardwares, Solid Surface, Stone, Hardwoods & Softwoods
• Familiar with commercial cabinet and countertop construction methods
• Knowledge of Woodworking CNC machines (SCM is a plus) and their tooling/capabilities
• knowledge of 32mm System cabinets
• Knowledge of "Lean Manufacturing"
• Able to take constructive criticism to improve performance
• Positive attitude and willingness to give 100% to achieve company goals
• Meets Department productivity, quality, and drafting standards
• Be conscience of Engineering labor time and optimization of Materials
• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel
• Knowledge of Inches, Millimeters, Angles, Scales. Can use measuring tools, measuring tape, Caliper, Architectural & Engineering Scales, Angle finder
• Zero tolerance for Alcohol and Drugs (including marijuana).

(Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities that are a PLUS)

• Spanish speaking is a Plus
• Operate CNC Machine
• Knowledge of editing gcode
• Able to create PDF files

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
