Cafe Barista

Full Time | 6:30-2:30 pm | Working Every Other Sunday

Requirements for a Friendly Home Caf? Barista:

• High School Diploma
• At least one year experience as a Barista. Prior Culinary experience preferred.
• Ability to read and write.
• Serv-Safe certification preferred.

Responsibilities for a Friendly Home Caf? Barista:

• Turns on the different equipment and ensures that all are working properly.
• Checks the daily prep sheet to see what is needed for the day.
• Will slice deli meat based on the daily needs.
• Set up the sandwich/salad bar with all the appropriate deli meat, cheese, onions, pickles, tomatoes, and lettuce.
• Prepares salads per recipe and labels them appropriately.
• Bakes cookies and other daily baked goods per par sheet.
• Uses good judgment and creativity to produce the daily Panini, by utilizing items available and labels them appropriately.
• Follows the Executive Chef's recipe to make the Specialty Sandwich/Panini.
• Prepares specialty coffees, brews assorted coffees, and prepares assorted smoothies.
• Maintains a level of prepared inventory to provide enough for the following service time for the open merchandiser, the display case, and the sandwich/salad refrigerator.
• Greets customers, takes their order, and prepares their items efficiently with great customer service.
• Uses suggestive selling techniques by offering other items to complement the sale. Will make samples of new items and invite customers to taste.
• Will take customers' suggestions and bring forth to Management.
• Keeps all areas stocked properly following FIFO guidelines.
• Adheres to all established safety and sanitation guidelines and follows department policies and procedures.
• Performs cleaning functions as assigned.
• Ensure that all equipment is functioning properly and informs the Manager on duty when a piece of equipment needs maintenance.
• Knows how to and prints the labels for all the items prepared and placed in the open-air merchandiser.
• May be assigned to put stock away if lifting requirements (lifting up to 50 lbs.) can be met.
