We are currently accepting applications for a Cafe Supervisor. The Cafe Supervisor is responsible for daily operations of the hostel’s on-site limited service cafe and will lead and supervise a small team of cafe assistants while also stepping in to prepare food, take orders, process customer payments, and clean as needed. Must be willing to work weekends, and holidays as schedule requires.

Responsibilities:

  • Hire, train, and supervise cafe assistants ensuring fod safety protocols are adhered to and monitored
  • Create weekly schedule for cafe and delegate necessary tasks
  • Maintain food and cafe supplies inventory
  • Prepare food including in house specials
  • Make and serve coffee, espresso drinks or other drinks offered at cafe
  • Process customer payments using register or online payment system
  • Perform daily cleaning, as well as deep cleaning tasks as required, including wiping tables and counter tops, sweeping and mopping the floor, storing food

properly, and washing and putting away dishes and utensils

  • Ensure daily checklist is completed.
  • Run errands as needed, for cafe supplies.
  • Resolve any problems that arise or escalate to hostel management as appropriate.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Associates degree and 3-5 years of hospitality, customer service, or restaurant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Supervisory experience a must
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to handle cash and money transactions without error
  • First-aid & food service certification or willingness to become certified
  • Ability to be flexible with scheduling, including nights, weekends, or holidays
  • Ability to speak a second language a plus

Pay: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour
