We are excited to announce that a vacancy for a part-time cake maker has become available in our family run delicatessen and bakery, located just off the Rochestown Road. 5 part-time shifts, Monday- Friday or Tuesday-Saturday (20hrs per week) from 1pm - 5pm daily.

We pride ourselves on producing the best quality, homemade desserts. Using fresh ingredients, we make delicious homemade breads, scones, cakes, biscuits, tarts, fruit cakes & much more (see @cinnamoncottage on Instagram to see our latest products).

We are looking for someone with some experience in a professional kitchen ideally, but more importantly, with a keen interest in making high quality desserts and cakes. We want someone who works well in an intimate team and to share responsibility in preparing cakes, breads, desserts, and tarts on a daily basis.

The person will be working with a team of 2 other pastry chefs and reporting to the head chef. This role is ideal for someone looking to step away from shift work, have more social working hours and use all of their experience to produce exceptional quality cakes and desserts.

Some of the main responsibilities of the role include:

• manage stock and place daily orders.
• have excellent attention to detail.
• deliver a high standard of baking and decorating on a daily basis, from making mixes and buttercreams to the final decoration of a cake.
• have a high level of hygiene and cleanliness, including HACCP training
• a keen knowledge of baking and the elements surrounding it.

The work is varied and rewarding. Working hours are ideal and very social, no nights, no shift work and more time to enjoy mornings, evenings and weekends with friends and family. The shop closes for annual holidays for 1 week after Christmas Eve so all of our team can get a well deserved break.

The right candidate will be offered on-site training on our menu and many opportunities to develop their skills by taking on more responsibilities and help develop new menus. External training courses are also available for further training and development of skills. Salary is negotiable, competitive and depends on experience.
