- Be part of a team that answers dozens of questions a day such as where to get a COVID shot or how to get fuel assistance, and problem-solves with teammates about questions and suggestions.

HelpLine Information Assistance Specialist to join our tireless, attentive team in a call center environment. This position will assist our State Health Insurance Program (SHIP) coordinator. Our HelpLine Specialist will be responsible for providing short-term caller requests for information, referrals, and assistance and assisting by providing information by sending brochures, emails, and even having face to face visits (Springfield or Windsor) and following up to see if they need additional help. When it is a lengthy or complex issue, it is referred to our specialized case managers for individualized assistance.
Our HelpLine call module is updated with tracking of all calls, intakes, notes, referrals. Strong computer skills are required so you can quickly input data and write correspondence using Microsoft Office products. Our HelpLine Specialists are excellent communicators and have fantastic phone and listening skills because they talk to lots of people including clients, caregivers, community providers, and state officials.
During open enrollment, all hands are on deck! We are looking for a HelpLine Specialist who wants to expand their horizons and learn about the Vermont State Health Insurance Program and Medicare. We will make sure that you get the support, training, and certification that you need to assist our SHIP Coordinator so you can help aging Vermonters with their questions on Medicare and drug plans that meet their needs.
A bachelor’s degree in human services and two years of related experience is preferred – but don’t let that stop you from applying. A combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for a degree. Candidates with medical office and/or medical billing experience helpful.
