St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church is launching a Digital Campus in Fall of 2023 and seeking a dynamic, relational, passionate Digital Campus Director (DCD) to meet people wherever they are on their spiritual journey, invite them to experience the life-transforming love of Christ through St. Andrew’s, and connect them to one another so that we may grow in God’s image and participate in God’s dream for the world together. The DCD will accomplish this through cultivating digital content, building relationships with digital campus participants, organizing folks into small groups, creating service opportunities, developing leaders who can launch in-person microcommunities, and encouraging spiritual growth of all digital members through disciplines of prayer, worship, giving, serving, and inviting others to discover how their story weaves into God’s dream for all of us.
St. Andrew’s provides staff members with a team-based environment that is small, flexible and utilizes best practices to approach decision making. AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
Leadership & Administration
- In collaboration with the Lead Pastor, develop a comprehensive strategy to grow the digital campus to become financially self-sustaining within 3-5 years.
- Develop programs and teams to execute the digital campus growth strategy.
- Recruit, equip, encourage, and support digital campus volunteers including online worship hosts, small group leaders, etc.
- Research and strategically deploy new or emerging tools related to digital communication and engagement.
- Manage the digital campus budget.
Outreach
- Develop and execute strategy for connecting with new people with whom the mission of St. Andrew’s resonates.
- Work with Communications Coordinator and consultants to create and execute a marketing plan for the digital campus.
- Leverage current St. Andrew’s member networks to connect with potential new members.
- Identify target geographic areas and strategically reach out to potential members, including those which lack an inclusive United Methodist church option.
- Prepare and promote digital resources that will increase online engagement such as YouTube series, sermon extracts, podcasts, ministry resources, etc.
Connection
- Develop a comprehensive visitor connection system that deepens relationships with and between individuals connected with the digital campus.
- Leverage existing St. Andrew’s data to identify guests and members who primarily connect digitally and invite them into deeper levels of discipleship.
- Create and oversee digital connection with and microcommunities of college-age children of St. Andrew’s members and their friends.
- Organize and host digital gatherings.
- Cultivate in-person microcommunities and service opportunities in areas where St. Andrew’s digital members reside.
- Collaborate with St. Andrew’s intergenerational ministries staff to develop and deploy connection and discipleship opportunities for people of various ages.
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES:
Required:
- A personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Ability to support, communicate, and live out St. Andrew’s mission, vision, and values.
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, ministry, business, nonprofit management or related ?eld; or equivalent experience.
- 3-5 years of professional experience in communications, marketing, ministry, business, nonprofit management or related ?eld.
- Experience gathering and building a digital team or community.
- Experience leading, equipping, and managing a corps of volunteers.
- Experience meeting benchmarks for growth.
- Willingness and ability to experiment, learn from mistakes, and adapt to a changing digital landscape.
- Commitment to and comfort with inviting people into deeper levels of discipleship through small groups, serving, giving, worship, prayer, and spiritual formation opportunities.
- Demonstrated leadership skills.
- Exceptional networking and relational skills.
- Compelling communicator in digital one-on-one and group settings.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, next steps, and deadlines at one time.
- Experience with digital communications tools such as Zoom, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, video editing software, and emerging platforms.
Preferred:
- Experience gathering and building a digital ministry, team, or community from the ground up.
