The Projects Team Leader is accountable for the slate of projects executed by the WRR small projects team. The team typically works on 75-100 projects per year that are typically
Responsibilities include
Supervise, mentor, develop, and coach project engineers, with emphasis on early career engineers. Supervise the documentation group.
Demonstrates personal commitment to HSE compliance. Responsible for own health/safety as well as health/safety of assigned employees and contractors .
Responsible for complying with P66 policies and procedures, established standards, and agency/governmental regulations.
Adhere to the Small Projects Work Process; ensure your team understand and follow it.
Collaborate with the Project Team and with key customers. Identify obstacles that are keeping the team from being productive. Work to remove the obstacles.
Use Project Engineering team metrics to drive team performance. Update the department scorecard.
Use the Engineering P6 schedule and audit to ensure data is updated and accurate.
Learn to use ASPEN capital cost estimate software and review all estimates and scope with Project Engineers prior to all capital funding gates.
Review and approve all AFE’s, FEL 1/2/3 design packages project scope change requests, and field change requests.
Participate on refinery wide teams with the purpose of understanding and influencing the technical scope of any projects that may generate from these teams. Teams include: PHA Team, Environmental Steering Team, Reliability Team, others.
Provide input into the Capital Long Range Planning (LRP) Process
Required qualifications
Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
Proficiency in Microsoft Office computer applications
5 or more years of industry experience
Understand the general work process of projects including Front End Loading requirements
Preferred qualifications
3+ years of Project Engineering Experience
Supervisory experience is a plus
Working knowledge of P&IDs, equipment design, Management of Change, HAZOP reviews, electrical/instrument designs,
Experience using P6 scheduling reports and estimating.
Experience using ASPEN Capital Cost Estimating Software
Experience working on site at a refinery/petrochemical complex
Strong oral/written communication skills and the ability to interact and work in a team environment
