Job description

Our Mom lives on her farm in a quiet area south of Grinnell. She is having slight memory loss, and needs help with driving, some cooking, and general household chores. She lives by herself, but goes to local sports, local restaurants, KSU games and things out of town. She has 4 children, all in KS. I am in Scott City with my family, the other three are in Wichita and KC area. We all can help with Mom either at her home or where we live. She doesn't need help with showering or personal hygiene at this time. If needed, and we cannot find local help for her wish to stay on the farm, we will move her to one of a few selected care facilities in Wichita.

Depending on the situation of distance, a person is welcome to stay overnight for a day or more when it works out. We would only expect one to be there during the day hours for 8 to 12 hours. We have an agency who is helping, and they may conitinue. But the help is significant distance away. Depending the applicant and the time available, we could have a mix of agency help and an employee or two.

If the right applicant has a need to live full time around the area, we could work out an arrangement to live at a nearby (on the same section) lodge Mom owns. This would work well even for a family who has children and one parent could work as caregiver for Mom part time. There are plenty of other chores and farm-like work on the farm if that fits as well.
