UMMC Midtown Campus, one of two campuses of the University of Maryland Medical Center, has had a long history of working to keep our community healthy and has grown to become a trusted teaching hospital for medical and surgical care in Baltimore City.

Located in Baltimore’s cultural center near the historic Mount Vernon neighborhood, UMMC Midtown Campus is a 180-bed, community teaching hospital with a focus on helping people manage chronic diseases, including diabetes, hypertension, pulmonary conditions, and infectious diseases.

Main Function:

Operates cash register according o procedures, reconciles cash and charges. Performs general cleaning, sets up and prepares food/beverages for service and restocks items in the Cafeteria.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Operates cash register in accurate and timely manner.
• Reconciles cash and charge slips accordingly to procedures. Signs off on cashier log when receiving and after turning in cash drawer. Verifies bank.
• Ensures over-rings and voids are handled according to procedures. Completes documentation and signs off of proper forms when necessary. Cash deposits are within .5% of cash sales.
• Assists customers by answering questions and informing Manager of concerns.
• Refills utensils, napkins, cups, condiment, etc, during and at the end of each meal service.
• Responsible for cleanliness of beverage and condiment areas.
• Places menus on menu board for lunch and dinner.
• Cleans tables, ensures salt and pepper shakers are filled, and on each table in the dining room. Clean salt and pepper shakers when needed.
• Clean coffee machine and wipe all counter tops.
• Assists with serving customers as needed.
• Wears proper attire designed by dress code. Consistently wears I.D. badge.

Education: High school diploma or GED preferred. Must be able to read and write English.

Experience: 1 year cashier or food service experience preferred.
