Purpose: To creatively solicit social events and ensure that value paid is value received, not only in product, but in service and in ambiance. It has a dual responsibility, which are to sell social catering functions as well as to service group conferences and meetings at the hotel.

Reports to: Director of Sales & Marketing. This position will be working with a third-party

Essential Functions:

· Solicitation of social event clients in the local catering market.

· Service group sales events consisting of conferences, board meetings, conventions, pre-cons and post-cons.

· Experience creating banquet event orders and facilitating BEO meetings with the proper department managers.

· Maximize catering revenues from solicited groups and minimize erosion of check averages from price-sensitive groups. Communication of function arrangements to all responsible hotel departments.

· Creation of profitable menus with the executive chef and distribution of client expectations to Food & Beverage Departments.

· Coordinate catering support services (flowers, entertainment, decoration, A/V, etc.) to provide complete client satisfaction.

· Physically double-check all function arrangements against specifications of client. Correct where necessary.

· Solicit spin-off catering events from clients at competing hotels.

· Client contract and effective communication to ensure repeat bookings.

· Update and increase client prospects in Delphi

· Maximize revenues for the hotel through upselling techniques.

· Other duties as assigned by Director of Sales & Marketing.

· Ensure brand standards are met

· Serve as the link between the third-party catering company in charge of F&B and the hotel different departments.

· Coordinate and supervise the catering team

Hotel Specific Essential Functions:

· Enter all activities and relevant information into Delphi

· Utilize electronic tools to meet activity and revenue goals.

Tools and Equipment:

¨ Tables and chairs when assisting room set-ups, plus other decorations, plates, glasses, silverware, etc.

Computer and printer, telephone, pen/pencil, photo-copying machine, file folders, filing cabinet, facsimile machine

Working Environment:

¨ Exterior of hotel with exposure to weather conditions.

¨ Interior of hotel, in normal office conditions.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

· Qualifications Requirements:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. · Education and/or Experience:
Minimum four years of hotel sales or catering experience. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office. Only serious, professional, experienced applicants please.

· Language Skills:
Fluency in English and Spanish required. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Able to communicate effectively, both orally and by written work.

· Computer Skills

Strong Microsoft Office skills with emphasis on Excel. Prior knowledge of Delphi, Salesforce is a plus.

· Mathematical Skills:
Ability to accurately perform basic mathematics and understand general accounting principles.

· Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply reasonable levels of logic and psychology to the negotiation process and to effectively determine the viability of specific booking opportunities.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $42,851.43 - $51,606.03 per year
