Job description
Barrett Paving Materials Inc., a leader in heavy highway construction since 1854 and a Colas company since 1979, has an opening for a CDL Dump Truck Driver for our Liverpool, NY location. Our operating market includes Central and Southern parts of New York.
Main Responsibilities
- Pickup and deliver materials/equipment to jobsites in a safe and efficient manner
- Operates vehicles according to the DOT and the company’s safety standards
- Maintains vehicles:clearing and verification of vehicles after use
carries out standard upkeep (minor repairs) in observance of the company’s environmental guidelines and regulations
Notifies their manager in the event of anomalies.
- Applies the safety guidelines linked to their activities including the wearing of Personal Protective Equipment.
- Takes care of the proper adjustment of their equipment and vehicles before operating them.
- Conduct proper pre and post trip inspections to ensure equipment is in working order.
Skills
- Must comply will all DOT regulations
- Applicants must be able to work varying shifts and long hours dependent on market demands
- Must comply with the company’s drug and alcohol testing requirements
- Proven track record working safely
- Good work ethic, professional, and positive attitude
- Travel as required
Physical Requirements
- Wears and maintains personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by Company safety guidelines
- Regularly required to lift and /or move up to 50 pounds with or without assistance
- Regularly required to use hands to move and manipulate objects
- Regularly required to communicate (talk and hear)
- Frequently required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Standing/working on feet for long periods, and walking across uneven terrain
Requirements
- Valid CDL B License with the ability to maintain a clean driving history
