A day in the life…
Wondering what a day in the life of a Central Billing Office Representative at The Iowa Clinic might look like?
- A Float Representative is responsible for assisting wherever there is need within the central billing office. This could be within insurance follow up, denials management, posting, or as a courier when needed.
- Answers patient, clinic, insurance company and other third-party calls from the incoming multi-line telephone system.
- Schedules appointments for various primary care clinic locations, directs calls or submits electronic tasks to specific clinic team.
- Works denials received by the organization into the accounts receivable system.
- Assist in Insurance Pending and possess the ability to handle the resubmission, reposting, and transferring of data ques.
- Leave in the evening – hooray for working standard clinic hours!
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Ability to operate computer, answer phone calls, and previous medical office experience.
- Coding knowledge such as CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS, and modifiers preferred.
- Exposure to different types of insurance programs preferred.
