Aventura at Creekside is in need of a Certified Activities Director in our skilled nursing facility's Activity Department.


The main directive of the Activity Director is to plan, organize, implement, evaluate and direct the Activities Programs in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards governing the facility and as directed by Administrator. The goal of Activities Director would be to the ensure that the emotional, recreational, and social needs of the residents are met and maintained on an individual basis.

ACTIVITIES DIRECTOR JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Plan and create monthly calendar, outlining activities for the month including- movies, parties, games, projects, crafts, resources, and field trips for residents
  • Identify and monitor spiritual, social, recreational, and emotions needs of residents through routine interviews, visits, and consultations with residents and their families
  • Encourage residents to develop physical and educational skill through participation in activities
  • Ensure nursing supervisors assist residents with selection of activities in compliance with physicians’ orders.
  • Coordinate resident council meetings on a monthly basis
  • Posting to PCC on resident activities
  • Manage schedule and oversight of activities aides

ACTIVITY DIRECTOR JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Certified or in the process of obtaining certification as an Activities Director in the state of PA
  • Patient, friendly, courteous and respectful to residents, families and coworkers
  • Able to manage staff in a lead-by-example mentality
