Certified CT Tech, under the direction of a radiologist and chief technologist, with minimum supervision, must maintain the daily functions of the CT Department. Also responsible for performing duties of Radiologic Technologist I within the Radiology Department
1. Graduate of 24 month Radiologic Technology program in an American Medical Association approved school. 2. Must be registered and licensed CT Technologist, meeting the requirements for registry by the ARRT and NYS; or temporary NYS license pending. 3. Must possess and maintain NYS injection license. 4. CPR Certified 5. ARRT(CT) certification required
1. Performs the imaging examination requested by the referring physician. 2. Performs technical aspects of CT Mammography and additional modality examinations on in patients and out patients per established procedures. 3. Performs routine equipment checks for resolution and other quality control procedures, as necessary. 4. Schedules and coordinates tests; performs duties under professional supervision of the Radiologist. 5. Must be aware of and follow all hospital and department specific policies and procedures. 6. . Demonstrates clinical and technical competencies as per department standards 7. Must be able to react quickly to emergency situations such as patient fainting, patient being unsteady while getting on to scanning table, if unsafe situation occurs (such as a fire), getting patient to safety and sounding alarm. Ability to work alone on shift or call and get job done in an efficient manner. 8. Must be able to lift, push, reach, bend, stop and walk in order to care for patients. Must be able to perform a stand‐pivot transfer with a patient.
1. Verifies images of exam and sends to PACS. 2. Maintains an inventory of coupling agent, drugs and other supplies and requisitions and materials, as needed. 3. Demonstrates willingness to accept non‐routine work assignments, as appropriate. 4. Must be able to work a variety of shifts including holidays and weekends as assigned. 5. Must be able to sit or stand for a prolonged period of time in performing the ordered examination
